Horay solar panels: owners' reviews

We looked for reviews of Horay panels on Rozetka, Prom, Hotline, forums and YouTube. There are very few: none at all in shops, and first-hand experience from just five owners and one installer. We summarise each one with a link and add what is known about the brand.

In short

  • Horay is a Chinese manufacturer from Wuxi (Jiangsu province); by its own figures it produces about 2.5 GW of modules a year. In August 2026 the company announced that it had made the BloombergNEF Tier 1 list for Q3. In Ukraine the panels are sold by the exclusive distributor New Energy Power (Horay Solar Ukraine, Boryspil).
  • There are few reviews of these panels. As of 27.10.2026, Prom has about thirty Horay listings and not a single product review. Hotline and online shops have none either, and Rozetka and Epicentr don't sell these panels. We found first-hand experience only on the GreenPowerTalk forum and in YouTube comments: five owners and one installer.
  • On output, the reviews are mostly positive. Six 455 W panels delivered 2700 W at peak, and the inverter drew 400 W from each 420 W panel. One owner writes that his panels have been “working fine” for almost a year, and another has had a system with them running for a year.
  • Against: distrust of a little-known brand. We found no reasoned arguments or stories of failures, and the oldest owner reviews are about a year old.
  • A watt of Horay costs 9.3–10.2 UAH in retail offers on Hotline (27.10.2026) — in line with ordinary prices, not cheaper.

What kind of brand is Horay

Horay Solar Co., Ltd is registered in Huishan District of Wuxi. The company makes solar modules and energy storage systems. In a news post dated 23 August 2026 it cites about 2.5 GW of annual capacity and N-type TOPCon and BC technologies. BloombergNEF's Tier 1 is a list banks look at when financing large power plants (that is how Horay itself describes it too). It says nothing about the quality of a particular panel. Horay is not on the 2026 Kiwa PVEL list of top performers in laboratory tests (43 manufacturers). That may also mean the company did not submit panels for testing.

The Ukrainian distributor says it works under a direct contract with the factory and keeps a warehouse in Ukraine; its address is in Boryspil. Its website mostly lists bifacial double-glass panels from the Solar Ocean N-Type series at 460, 600 and 630 W and the Galaxy at 730 W. Stated specifications: 22.77% efficiency for the 460 W model and 23.3% for the HS630TC-MHC-D. For the 460 W model the distributor promises a 1% power loss in the first year and 0.4% a year after that, i.e. 87.5% of output after 30 years. Shops also sell older models: HS440TC-MHO-D, HS455TC-MHC-D, HS590TC-MHO-D.

ModelWhere and whenPricePer watt
HS460TC-MHC-D, 460 WHotline, 2 offers, 27.10.20264,590–4,700 UAH9.98–10.22 UAH
HS590TC-MHO-D, 590 WBT-Service, 27.10.20265,715 UAH9.69 UAH
HS630TC-MHC-D, 630 WHotline, 27.10.20265,850 UAH9.29 UAH
HS730TC-MHG-D, 730 WHotline, 27.10.20266,900 UAH9.45 UAH
HS630TC-MHC-D, 630 Wdistributor, retail, 27.10.2026$128$0.20

For comparison: in our review of solar panel prices a retail watt cost 9–11.5 UAH. In our manufacturer ranking a watt from the top six brands cost 8.9–11.2 UAH (22.10.2026). So on price, Horay is no cheaper than well-known brands. Some listings on Prom are much lower: from 2,501 UAH for 440 W. With such listings, ask whether the panel is new and who provides the warranty.

Where we looked for reviews

  • Rozetka: the query “horay solar” returns 0 products.
  • Epicentr: no Horay panels in search.
  • Prom: about 30 listings in the solar panel category, and none of those we checked has a product review.
  • Hotline: three models, not a single product review.
  • Amper, A-Profi: Horay product pages say “no reviews yet”.
  • GreenPowerTalk forum: a dedicated Horay thread with 12 posts, two of them from owners. Two more owners mention their panels in other threads.
  • YouTube: two owner reviews and an installer's reply under videos by Ukrainian bloggers; the rest are questions. Two promotional videos on the “HORAY Solar Panels” channel have over a million views each, but each has only one comment, a question.

Each review below is a summary with a link to the original source. Anyone can check them. But these are the words of anonymous users, and peak watts measured by an inverter are not a laboratory test.

Output: do they deliver what's stated

  • PolarYetti, GreenPowerTalk, 28.03.2026. Six 455 W panels, a 6.2 kW inverter. Writes that the day before, between 12:00 and 14:00, they produced 2700 W. The panels' total rated power is 2730 W, so at peak they delivered almost their rating. Forum thread.
  • Ali.kiev.ua, GreenPowerTalk, 17.08.2025. Recently installed 420 W Horay panels. Says that they “of course don't deliver” the stated 420 W, but at peak the inverter drew 1600 W from four panels, i.e. 400 W each. According to him, the rear side of the bifacial panels adds about another 13%. Same thread.
  • Installer Alternative solar, YouTube, around November 2025. The company posted a video about a system on Horay panels with an 8 kW Felicity inverter (going by the video's title and description). A viewer asked whether the panels deliver their stated output. The reply: “While they're new, yes. In 5 years, I don't know.” Comment under the video.
  • viza1viza299, YouTube, around February 2026. Writes that eight 580 W panels have been working for him for almost a year, and he has bought six more at 455 W. His verdict: “Decent panels, working fine.” According to him, a panel cost roughly 3500 UAH. Comment thread.
  • ВикторЗнахарь, YouTube, around April 2026. Has five of these panels: «Отличные панели… намного лучше чем Jinco» (“Excellent panels… much better than Jinco”). He doesn't explain in what way. Comment thread.

YouTube comment dates are approximate: the site only shows “8 months ago” and the like; we counted back from 27.10.2026.

Quality and trust in the brand

  • ViktorR, GreenPowerTalk, 13.06.2025. He was offered the HS450TC-MHC-D: the specs suited him and the brand is on the Tier 1 list, “but somehow there's little information about them”. The forum administrator replied that Tier 1 is “just compliance with certain parameters”. Viktor bought Jinko. In February 2026 he advised another user “better not to take such panels at all, in my view they're of dubious quality”. This is the opinion of someone who never installed Horay. Forum thread.
  • MiroslavGS, GreenPowerTalk, 14.07.2026. An owner of HS450TC-MHC-D panels with an 11 kW Anenji inverter writes that “the system has been running for a year already”. His complaint is about battery charging, not the panels. Battery thread.
  • Рогач, GreenPowerTalk, 19.07.2025. Was choosing between JA Solar with 1.6 mm glass and the “little-known HORAY Solar” with 2 mm glass. He wanted to know which would withstand hail better. Nobody else in the thread wrote about Horay. Hail thread.
  • Олег, YouTube, around February 2026. Asked “what about HORAY panels?”, he replied: “They're complete junk.” He was asked why, but there's no answer. Comment thread.
  • The @bkwindsolar account under a video on the “BohdanKushlyk — on sun and wind” channel, YouTube, around March 2026. “I don't like these Horays… time will tell.” Another viewer got a reply from the same account saying they don't know these panels. Comment thread.
  • Viewers of the GreenPowerTalk channel, YouTube, around April 2026. They ask “what are these new Horay panels nobody has heard of” and want the author's opinion. There's no reply from the author under the video. Comment.

In its brand ranking of 12.03.2026, the company SIG Energy gave Horay 7 points out of 10: “a less-known brand… not the first choice for mass-scale projects”. However, its table lists Horay as PERC with about 21% efficiency. What is sold in Ukraine now is mostly N-type TOPCon, so the rating seems to apply to an older product line.

Warranty and service

  • The distributor promises a 30-year power warranty. According to it, warranty claims should be made to the distributor in Ukraine rather than to the factory.
  • Sources give different terms for the product warranty on the panel itself. BT-Service on Hotline gives 12 years. The European marketplace Solartraders lists 15 years on the product and 30 years on 87% of output for the HS630TC-MHC-D. Before buying, ask the seller to write the term in the warranty card.
  • We found no actual warranty case at all: neither a successful nor a problematic one.
  • The only purchase review is on Hotline, dated 12.10.2026, and it's about the shop, not the panel. The buyer ordered an HS460TC-MHC-D from BT-Service: “for more than a week I tried to get them either to ship it or to let me pick it up myself. It never worked out.”

Conclusion

Horay panels appear to deliver output close to what is stated. Owners who have had them for up to a year aren't complaining. But there's little data: a few anonymous reviews, no independent tests and no warranty cases. How the panels will behave in 5–10 years is unknown, and the price per watt is the same as for brands with a longer track record. If your installer offers Horay, ask for the datasheet for the specific model and a written product warranty. Buy from the official distributor or from a shop that can confirm it sources from them.
