In short

  • A 10 kW turnkey grid-tied station in public price lists on 27 October 2026 cost from $4,500 (about UAH 205 thousand) at Solar Technology and from UAH 253 thousand to UAH 332 thousand at Lirik Solar. The Lirik price depends on the inverter brand.
  • A 10 kW hybrid station with a 10–12 kWh battery costs UAH 336–363 thousand at three companies, and from $11,257 at Alteco (about UAH 513 thousand, spring 2026 price).
  • Calculated per kilowatt of panels, prices for stations of the same class differ almost threefold: from UAH 18.7 thousand to UAH 52.9 thousand per kW for grid-tied systems. So compare not the bottom line but every line of the quote.
  • “Turnkey” usually includes panels, an inverter, a battery, mounting, protection, and installation with commissioning. Often not included are cables (charged “as used”), consumables, delivery and a bidirectional meter. A meter with AMR (ASKOE), according to Alteco, costs another $400–500.
  • Warning signs: the quote lists no equipment models, installation is on the list but its price is “to be confirmed”, the payback is calculated on the “green” tariff without checking whether you are entitled to it, and the contract has no warranty on the work.

What a turnkey station includes

There is no single standard for “turnkey”. Each company decides for itself what goes into it. But a complete quote for a private house consists of the same lines.

  1. Solar panels: model, power of one panel, quantity and total power in kW.
  2. Inverter: grid-tied or hybrid, model, power, single- or three-phase.
  3. Battery (for a hybrid station): model and capacity in kWh.
  4. Mounting for your roof type: pitched, flat or ground-mounted.
  5. DC and AC protection: fuses, circuit breakers, SPD (surge protection device), distribution board.
  6. Cables: solar cable from the panels to the inverter and power cable from the inverter to the board.
  7. Installation and commissioning.
  8. Delivery of the equipment to the site.
  9. Documents for the grid operator and a meter, if the station will run in parallel with the grid or sell surplus.
  10. Warranty on the equipment (from the manufacturer) and on the installation work (from the contractor).

Solar Technology from Ivano-Frankivsk broke down its 15 kW turnkey kit for $5,470 into shares. Panels account for about 47% of the price, the grid-tied inverter for 15%, mounting, cables and protection for 20%, and installation and commissioning for 17%. Installation can also be estimated from Alteco's price list: the difference between the price with and without installation there is $2,057 for a 10 kW hybrid and $1,765 for a 5 kW grid-tied station.

How much a turnkey station costs: 5 and 10 kW

The table shows installers' public prices from their websites as of 27 October 2026. Dollars are converted at the NBU rate for that day, UAH 45.54. Prices marked “from” are the lower limit for a basic kit on a pitched roof.

The table shows two things. First, the inverter brand alone changes the price of an identically equipped grid-tied station at Lirik Solar by 31%: UAH 253 thousand with Deye versus UAH 332 thousand with Huawei. Second, if you divide the price by the panel power, a grid-tied kilowatt costs UAH 18.7 thousand at Solar Technology, UAH 25 thousand at Lirik Solar with Deye and UAH 52.9 thousand at Alteco. We covered panel prices per watt in the review “How much solar panels cost in 2026”.

Four public quotes for a 10 kW hybrid

We put side by side four published offers for a 10 kW hybrid station with a battery of about 10–12 kWh. This shows in which lines they differ.

What the comparison shows:

  • Three companies use the same 10 kW Deye inverter, and their prices are close: UAH 336–363 thousand. Alteco, with similar equipment, is UAH 149–176 thousand more expensive. The date may explain part of the difference: Alteco quotes a spring 2026 price.
  • The panels in these kits differ: 9.9 kW at 220volt, 10.12 kW at Lirik Solar and 10.44 kW at Alteco. In addition, the Znshine panels at 220volt use the older PERC technology. So an equal total does not yet mean equal output.
  • Solar Technology names neither the models nor the number of panels for its hybrid. The page only explains, using a 15 kW example, that a hybrid is a turnkey grid-tied kit plus a hybrid inverter, a battery and automation.
  • Lirik Solar and 220volt have the same list of extras charged “after consultation or measurements”: solar and power cable, consumables, delivery.

How to compare three quotes line by line

Ask each contractor for a quote with separate lines and put them into one table. Here is what to check in each line.

LineWhat the quote should containHow to compare
PanelsModel, watts, quantityStation price per kW of panels; technology (N-type or PERC)
InverterModel, kW, phasesWhether the inverter exceeds your house's contracted capacity
BatteryModel, kWhPrice per kWh; LiFePO4 or lead-acid chemistry
Mounting and protectionRoof type, list of breakers and SPDsWhether there is protection on both the panel side and the grid side
Cables and consumablesMetres or a cap“As used” with no upper limit makes it impossible to compare the total
InstallationAmount, timeframe, who installsAs a separate line, not “to be confirmed”
Documents and meterWho files the application with the DSO, single-line diagram, meterWhether the cost of the meter is included
WarrantyYears on equipment and on workThe warranty on work is written into the contract
Payment and exchange ratePayment schedule, conversion rateDollar price at which day's rate

You can only compare what is included in all the quotes. If one contractor includes cables and the others do not, ask the others to name an amount or an upper limit.

Documents and the meter: what the contractor takes on

A private house needs no construction permits. Since 28 January 2026, under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 77, solar stations on roofs and facades are installed without them. A building inspection report is not mandatory for a private house; the owner orders it at will.

The grid is more complicated. Under Chapter 4.12 of the Distribution System Code, you must notify the distribution system operator (DSO) in writing about a station in your home network. For a station that will sell surplus, a single-line diagram is attached to the application. The DSO must inspect the station free of charge within five working days and seal the protection. In June 2026 DTEK described this process in six steps:

  1. An application via your personal account on the DSO's website.
  2. A single-line diagram, prepared by you or the installation company.
  3. An application for a capacity increase, if the station's power exceeds the contracted capacity.
  4. Buying a bidirectional meter from the DSO.
  5. Installing the meter and checking the diagram.
  6. Changes to the distribution point passport.

It is good when the quote states directly who is responsible for what. Solar Technology, for example, includes in “turnkey” the technical specifications from the regional power company, design documentation, a certificate of completed work and a contract for selling surplus.

Check the payback calculation separately. According to DTEK's explanation, the “green” tariff for private stations applies if the station is no more than 30 kW, you own the house and the land, and you have a direct contract with the DSO. Otherwise the self-generation mechanism applies: surplus is bought at the day-ahead market price, but no higher than your tariff. And the household tariff is UAH 4.32/kWh until 30 April 2027.

Red flags in a quote

  • No equipment models. “10 kW panels, 10 kW inverter” can be neither compared nor checked. See which panel brands performed best in independent tests in the ranking “Which solar panels are best for a home”.
  • Installation is on the list, but its price is “to be confirmed”. The 220volt page for the 10 kW hybrid has both entries. Demand a separate line with an amount.
  • Cables “as used” with no upper limit. This is how both Lirik Solar and 220volt charge. Ask for an estimate in metres after a site visit.
  • The meter was “forgotten”. Alteco estimates a bidirectional meter with AMR at another $400–500, and its cost is set by the regional power company.
  • Payback through “passive income”. If the calculation relies on the “green” tariff, check whether you meet DTEK's conditions (up to 30 kW, owner of the house and land, direct contract with the DSO).
  • Warranty on equipment only. Lirik Solar and 220volt give 5 years each on the inverter and batteries on their pages. Solar Technology gives 2 years on installation work. Both warranties must be in the contract.
  • A lead-acid battery “to cut the cost”. Alteco states plainly that a lead-acid battery is possible instead of LiFePO4. If the quote does not state the battery type, ask.
  • The full amount upfront to a contractor you cannot check. In a column for Ekonomichna Pravda (September 2025), the company Atmosfera described a client whose installers promised to finish the work in spring and then disappeared. Pay in stages.
